The final part of the four-part IBTA Fall Webinar Series took place on Friday, December 9. The webinar series addressed the role of remote direct memory access (RDMA) technologies – such as InfiniBand and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) – in the enterprise data center, highlighting the rising importance of I/O technology in the ongoing transformation of modern data centers. The webinars discussed how RDMA works, and specifically how RDMA can be implemented for greater efficiencies and cost savings.

The 20th IBTA Compliance and Interoperability Plugfest took place October 31, 2011 – November 4, 2011. The testing was hosted at the University of New Hampshire’s Interoperability Lab which includes more than 32,000 square feet of lab space. Plugfests provide an opportunity for InfiniBand™ device and cable vendors to test their products for compliance with the InfiniBand architecture specification, as well as interoperability with other InfiniBand products. Testing consisted of both cable and device testing for SDR – FDR products, including 3-4 FDR devices and 121 FDR cables including copper and AOC.
